Bored and looking to sharpen some of your acting skills from home?  Youtheatre's E-cademy invites you to join instructor Christopher J. Murphy for a series of online workshops learning and practicing dialects/accents commonly used by American actors.  Using the online platform Zoom, each 30-40 minute workshop will be limited to 10 students so that everyone has an opportunity to learn, try, get feedback and grow in a supportive and fun environment.  

Our first interactive workshop will focus on the Standard British dialect (also known as Received Pronunciation).  Formerly called "the King's English", this was thought of as the accent of those with power, money, and influence!  Upcoming workshops will focus on Russian, German, Cockney and more!   

Murphy got his first stage role at age 10 because he was the only kid in 5th grade who could do a German accent!  As a character actor, he's spent his life studying a host of dialects and looks forward to sharing with you!

Zoom meeting info and PDF worksheets (which can be printed out or viewed on your laptop or mobile device) will be emailed to all enrolled students 24 hours prior.
