Pre-Creative Drama: Happy Heroes & Heroines
Spring Semester | February 24 - May 4
(Off March 30 for Spring Break)
Saturdays | 10:30 - 11:25am
Grades K - 1st
Adventure is in the air! Each week, students will journey to new lands with brave knights, daring warriors and magical beasts. Using tales of heroic figures from Captain Underpants to Wonder Woman, from to Merida to Hercules, from PJ Masks to The Incredibles, and many, many more, we’ll explore the physicalization of unique characters with voice, body and movement through creative acting games, crafts and activities. Take one semester or both, featuring all new games, lessons and activities. Not all heroes wear capes…but we just might!
While Happy Heroes & Heroines is the theme of our class, it is not the entire class. Students will still be working on basic fundamentals of the stage and acting including stage presence, improv, movement, public speaking, etc. This course takes a games approach to the theatre.
