Senior Drama: A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy

Fall Semester | September 7 - November 9

Saturdays | 12:30 - 1:25pm

Grades 9th - 12th

“The play’s the thing!” Our most advanced actors will divide time between advanced acting exercises and studying two of the great writers of American theatre.  David Ives is considered a master of the short form, specializing in quirky one act plays as well as splashy musicals like White Christmas.  Tennessee Williams is one of the great writers of the 20th century, giving us classics like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, and more.  Alternating laughter and tears, actors will sink their teeth into monologue and scene work from these great writers of the 20th and 21st centuries.  Take one semester or both, featuring all new material.

Instructor: Christopher J. Murphy
