About

Senior Drama: A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy Part 1

Fall Semester | Sept. 10 - Nov 12

Saturdays | 12:30 - 1:30pm

Grades 9th - 12th

“The play’s the thing!” Our most advanced actors will divide time between advanced acting exercises and studying two of the great writers of American theatre. This year, we will highlight two playwrights who effortlessly alternated between humor and drama: Terrence McNally (Love, Valour, Compassion, It’s Only a Play, etc.) and Thornton Wilder (Our Town, The Skin of Our Teeth, etc.) Alternating laughter and tears, actors will sink their teeth into monologue and scene work from these great plays of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Instructor: Christopher J. Murphy
