About
Senior Drama: A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy, Part 2
Spring Semester | Mar. 6 - May 8
9 Weeks (No Class April 3 for Spring Break / $120
Saturdays | 1:30 - 2:30pm
Grades 9th-12th
Our most advanced actors will divide time between advanced acting exercises and studying two of the great writers of American theatre. For the last half of the 20th century, Neil Simon was the king of comedy with hits like "The Odd Couple" while Arthur Miller dominated the dramatic landscape with classics like "Death of a Salesman." Alternating laughter and tears, actors will delve further into monologue and scene work from their plays.
While A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy is the theme of our class, it is not the entire class. Students will still be working on advanced fundamentals of the stage and acting including: stage presence, script reading, improv, movement, diction etc.
Instructor: Christopher J. Murphy with Audrey Kindy
