Senior Drama: A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy with Arthur Miller and Neil Simon

Grades: 9-12

Time: 11:30am - 12:25pm

Teaching Artist: Christopher J. Murphy

Class Description: Students will delve into advanced monologue coaching & scene-work using material by two of the great playwrights of the 20th century, dramatist Arthur Miller & comedy writer Neil Simon.  A great chance to hone acting skills while learning the great plays of the American theatre.  

Technical Theatre: Stage Makeup (4-week session)

Grades: 9-12

Time: 12:30pm - 1:25pm

Dates: September 13th - October 4th

Teaching Artist: Gabrielle McAfee

Class Description: Stage makeup can turn any actor into a charactor! Join the fun as freelance makeup artist Gabrielle McAfee teaches things like highlight and shadow, age lines, bruises and scrapes, and more! All levels of experience are welcome. 

Note: ANYONE WITH MAKEUP OR LATEX ALLERGIES SHOULD NOTE THIS DURING THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS.

Advanced Musical Theatre: MISCAST!

Grades: 9-12 Time: 1:30pm - 2:25pm

Teaching Artist: Heather Closson, Alyssa Plisco & Christopher J. Murphy

Class Description: Ever dreamed of playing a role you’d never be cast in?  Now’s your chance!  MISCAST! flips the script and breaks the rules of traditional casting based on age, gender, type, and range.  Students will discover new sides of themselves while exploring vocal performance, character work, stage presence and choreography.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: If a refund is requested, Fort Wayne Youtheatre has a non-refundable charge of $25. No refund will be processed if you cancel less than 1 week in advance. Fort Wayne Youtheatre reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient registration. In the event of such a cancellation, all of your fees will be refunded.
