Summer Camps 2021

RISING STARS- Summer Drama & Dance Camp 2021

Session 1: June 14- 18 (M - F: Noon- 3PM)

Session 2: June 21- 25 (M- F: Noon- 3PM)

Grades 3rd-12th | $200 (or $350 for Both Weeks)

Youtheatre & Fort Wayne Dance Collective (FWDC) join forces to bring you this exciting camp experience.  Students will spend 90 minutes a day working on acting technique and characterization with Youtheatre instructors and 90 minutes working on fundamentals of movement and musical theatre choreography with the team from Fort Wayne Dance Collective.  Hosted at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective's studios, students will be placed by age in two groups of 10-15, allowing everyone to spread out for a fun, creative and safe experience as they step into the spotlight!

Each week will feature different material, so students can sign up for one week or both!

RISING STARS- Summer Acting Camp 2021

July 12- 16 (M-F / 10:00AM- 3:00PM)

Grades 3rd-12th | $200 

This one-week camp provides an extraordinary theatre experience and actor training.  Students are grouped by age and begin each day rotating through workshops on acting, movement and creating dynamic characters with experienced Youtheatre teaching artists.  Those lessons are then put into practice during rehearsals for a final production of small group one act plays and scenes, all on the incredible First Presbyterian Theatre stage.  Come "play!"

MADD (Music / Art / Drama / Dance) Camp 2021

Dates: June 7- 11 | Showcase on Friday the 11th

Mon- Thurs: 8:15am - 12:15pm | Friday: 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Grades K-5th 

$35 for 1st child ($15 each additional child per family)

First Pres has asked Youtheatre to go "MADD" with our friends from Fort Wayne Ballet and Fort Wayne Children's Choir!  This camp is geared toward young performers and artists K- 5th grade, rotating through a world of visual and performing art classes with teaching artists from all these organizations together under one roof.  The week will culminate in a performance for friends and family at First Presbyterian Theatre.  This camp is perfect for the budding artist who wants to try a little bit of everything!

SCORE! is a devised, mentor-led theater workshop with music held every July for 3 weeks. This collaboration helps the Embassy strengthen our strategic goal to grow our education programming and build upon our relationship with Youtheatre.

What is the goal of SCORE!?

To provide an intense and rigorous creative experience in which young people will:

  • Devise, create and produce an original theatrical production on the stage of the historic Embassy Theatre through a unique peer driven collaborative approach

  • Generate and harness the energy and discipline needed to create an original production

  • Give life and voice to a story that has meaning in their own lives

  • Learn the multidisciplinary elements of the art form including play-writing, composition, movement, drama, music, visual arts, and technical arts with the facilitation of industry professionals

  • Meet and collaborate with peers who have common interests
