Senior Drama: A Guide to Comedy & Tragedy

Spring Semester | February 24 - May 4

Saturdays | 12:30 - 1:25pm

Grades 9th - 12th

“The play’s the thing!” Our most advanced actors will divide time between advanced acting exercises and studying two of the great writers of American theatre.  This year, we will highlight two incredibly popular playwrights.  Aaron Sorkin has written Broadway dramas like To Kill a Mockingbird and A Few Good Men in addition to being one of the great TV creators of our time.  Ken Ludwig is a comedic author whose Broadway hits include Lend Me a Tenor, Crazy for You, Moon over Buffalo and so many more.  Alternating laughter and tears, actors will sink their teeth into monologue and scene work from these great writers of the 20th and 21st centuries.  Take one semester or both, featuring all new material.

Instructor: Christopher J. Murphy
